Due to the technical nature of creating embroidery products, it’s important you follow our step-by-step guide for creating new artwork in our PDF Guide.
Artwork filetype and sizes
Your artwork must be saved as a PNG with a transparent background. It also must be saved exactly to the pixel dimensions required for the product.
Download the print templates for easy artwork creation.
High DPI is not crucial for Embroidery products as our manufacturers do not utilize the PNG files for printing. They will utilize a stitch file that is created by translating your artwork file into a specially formatted file that tells the embroidery machines the type of direction of stitches.
When you order an embroidery product for the first time, the artwork will be translated to the proper stitch file format. This process typically takes between 24-48 hours, but once it’s done, any order that is placed utilizing the same artwork will not need to be digitized again and will go immediately into production. This process is necessary to create files that are readable by the manufacturer's embroidery machines. The stitch file tells the embroidery machine the direction and quantity of stitches for each part of the design.
Approving your Stitch Files
After submitting an embroidery order keep an eye out for an email from your Gooten account representative. They will share with you the stitch file for your approval within 2 business days from when the order was submitted. This will give you an idea how your artwork will be translated by the embroidery machine. You may then decide to approve or cancel the order and redesign your artwork.
We recommend you order a physical sample to yourself any time you plan on utilizing a new piece of artwork. That way your customers do not need to wait an extra 1-2 business days for the product to be digitized and then produced.
